How it works
Three shelves hold everything: Today for what you'll do today, This week for what can wait a few days, and Someday for ideas with no date. Today is a fresh page every morning. When the day turns (at midnight, or at the hour you choose up to 5 AM), anything you ticked off is filed under Done, and anything you didn't finish moves to a mat at the top of the page. It waits there, without turning red or counting days, until you send each one to Today, This week or Someday. When a new week starts (on your region's first day of the week, which you can change), whatever is left on This week joins it.
The idea is old and comes from paper. In the bullet journal, unfinished tasks are migrated by hand, and the rewriting is the moment you decide whether a task is still worth the effort. The mat keeps that decision and drops the rewriting. Microsoft To Do's My Day also starts each day blank, but it moves leftovers into a suggestions panel instead of asking.

Questions people ask
- What happens to the things I don't finish today?
- They wait on the mat at the top the next morning, under "Left over", until you move each one to Today, This week or Someday. Nothing is moved, marked overdue or deleted for you, and one button sends them all to Someday if you'd rather not decide now.
- When does a new day start?
- At midnight, unless you change it. If you often work late, set the new day to start at any hour up to 5 AM in Settings, and Today stays as it is until then.
- What counts as this week?
- The week starts on your region's first day (Monday in most of Europe, Sunday in the US), and you can change that in Settings. When a new week starts, anything left on This week waits on the mat with the day's leftovers.
- Why not just keep yesterday's tasks on today's list?
- Because a list that only grows stops being a plan. The bullet journal's migration asks you to look at each unfinished task and decide whether it's still worth doing; the mat does the same, one tap per task, without rewriting anything.
- Where is my list kept?
- Only in this browser on this device; we never see it, and there's no account. Use Export in Settings to keep a copy or move it to another device.
