How it works

When you put something away, write down three things: what it is, which room, and where in the room ("Desk, top drawer, blue folder"). Add a note if it helps. That takes a few seconds and needs no photo.

When you need it, type a few letters. The search ignores capitals and accents, finds the name first and then places and notes, and shows the best match as one big answer, with other matches under it. "Pass" finds Passport; "attic" finds everything in the attic.

If something moves, tap Moved it: the new place becomes the answer and the old one is kept below it, with the dates, so you know where it used to be. If you take something out to use it, tap Took it out; the page remembers where it lives until you put it back.

Everything stays in this browser, on this device. Nothing is uploaded, which also means you should export a copy now and then.

Questions people ask

How do I remember where I put things?
Write the place down the moment you put the thing away: the room, the spot, and a note if it helps. When you need it, type a few letters of the name here and the place fills the screen.
What happens when I move something?
Tap Moved it and enter the new place; the old one is kept underneath, so you'll see “Was in Hall closet until March” and nobody searches the old spot. Took it out marks something as in use without forgetting where it lives.
Is this private?
Yes: everything stays in this browser on this device, and nothing is sent anywhere. That also means anyone who can open this browser can see it, so keep that in mind for valuables, and export a copy from Settings so a cleared browser doesn't lose it.
Can I search for a room or a box?
Yes. The search looks at the name first, then the place and the note, so “attic” lists everything in the attic and “red tub” finds what's in it.
